Apartments Orlando is ideally located on the Stradun so you are staying in the heart of Dubrovnik with a huge range of excellent restaurants, cafes, upmarket shops, supermarkets, souvenir stalls, fresh produce stalls, banks and atm machines, the spectacular harbour, historic churches, easy access to all the historic attractions plus you are surrounded by the beauty of the Island and a great atmosphere. The staff Ivo and Ivana were extremely helpful and friendly and went out of their way to assist us with our enquiries. When we checked out, we were able to leave our suitcases in their reception area without charge until we left Dubrovnik in the early afternoon.
The stairs but only because the 4 of us had been travelling for almost 5 weeks and had extremely heavy suitcases but thanks to Ivo who was most helpful in assisting my husband to get the suitcases up to our apartment.
The staff were very kind and room extremely clean and spacious
We are trilled with accommodation and place in general (staff, cleaness and location overlooking to main street Stradun) . And Dubrovnik is the most romantic place in the world, especially during the night time.
I stayed at the apartmets Orlando from 10/16/12 to 10/21/12. I booked the attic apartmet. There are 2 beds up there. A double bed in one room and a single bed in another. With the double bed, the ceiling of course is slanted which makes it difficult to get to the other side of the bed, unless someone wants to get in from the near side first. These apartments are in a busy area with bars/cafes nearby and so it is noisy until about 2 am. The windows are the old european style which don't seal well. Still I didn't have much trouble sleeping even though I'm a light sleeper myself. I read in another review where someone wrote their apartment had no hot water. Well I found out when I got there that the hot water heater is mounted up on the wall in the bathroom, has a temperature gage and a red led power indicator on it. When I went in, the temp was all the way down and the light off. I had also noticed outside the bathroom there were two light type switches with red on indicator lights above them. They were off, I flipped one on and the water heater came on and later I had plenty of hot water. The internet wasn't working in my room that night, so I told them the next morning. They said I could move down into one of the larger apartments, because the internet for upstairs wouldn't be fixed til the next day. This apartment (#1) had a double bed and a double sofa bed in the same room. It too is some what noisy. It's in a great location though. Except when you leave or enter the old town or climb the stairs in the building, you don't have to deal with any steps as you do with other apartments in the outer part of old town. These people also set up tours and you should definitely do some day trips, especially to Mostar and Montenegro. It's a little difficult to find.
A little noisy
The location in the old town was very good. A little noisy at night due to the nearby Irish Pub. But that was only because of the football games being played in Europe at the time. All part of travel experience. We closed the windows and managed to sleep . We enjoyed the experience of watching the passing parade from the accommodation. It was easy to find a reasonably priced restaurant, and there are many of them. It was pleasant to relax at the end of the day with a relaxing stroll down to the waterfront. The young man managing the apartments was friendly and helpful. we felt very much at home in the area.
Friendly and very helpfull staff, position, view, furnitures, curtains!
Clean, but it could have been cleaner
Brilliant location in the heart of the city overlooking the main pedestrian street.
In terms of future development, the owners might wish to consider supplying a hair dryer and an iron for an apartment of this level/nature.
Wonderful location, extremely helpful staff, very reasonable rate and full of old town charm - beautiful apartment. While there were three flights of stairs to our apartment, this did not trouble us as the staff helpfully brought all our bags upstairs for us!
Bit noisy as it really is in the centre of everything right on the Stradun, but not a huge problem and worth putting up with if you want a central location.
Do not stay here. We had the Attic apartment for 3 nights and found it to be the worst accommodation we have ever had. There were many issues with the room. Both individually and collectively the room issues of themselves in the main do not prohibit a stay here, but one issue -that of the noise is definitely a deal breaker. The accommodation is surrounded on all sides by restaurants and bars which ramp up late into the evening. Predominant in Dubrovnik is the backpacker style organized 'pub crawls' which operate primarily between the hours of 11pm and 5am. Constant between these hours is the general bar buzz of voices, but periodically it gets 'out of control' with screaming packs of drunks, drinking game chanting, and the noise of the bars reacting to live sport broadcasts. Despite anything that may follow here there is no solution to this noise issue at this establishment, and it is torturous. Also shortly after everything closes at 5am the brushing of street sweepers would commence cleaning the old town, and the clanging of emptying bins by workers getting ready for the new day. To the room itself - 1. The air-conditioner was in the kitchen area and not able to sufficiently cool the apartment bedrooms. It did lower the bedroom temperatures but not sufficiently to sleep comfortably. This was a significant issue because being the attic apartment as it is naturally a hot space in summer. Worst of all the air condition had an intermittent fault where it would make a loud clicking noise at the rate of about 1 click a second. At times overnight we had to turn it off due to the clicking, forcing us to exacerbate the outside noise by opening the windows for cool air. 2. The apartment is generally old and has a very basic feel. All the area's are tight and no area really suited to spending any time in. The attic apartment doorways are low and the sloping main bedroom ceiling means you cannot stand up straight in the majority of that room.
i had ordered a baby cot 2 times and had been emailed to confirm this would be provided. it was not provided and ended up in a very uncomfortable and stressful stay. The hotel is extremely noisy and not suitable for a family.
Right in the centre of the old town, would definitely stay here again when i come back to Dubrovnik.
5 of us traveling around Croatia and this place was really nice, staff super friendly and location was awesome. Would definitely stay again
The location and staff were excellent. The airconditioning was good and the apartment was a comfortable size.
The bathroom was really bad. It was impossible to have a bath. The shower was broken and the tub was 1/3rd under the geyser. The location though perfect had one disadvantage - it was extremly noisy at night.
Location was excellent and apartments comfortable, staff very friendly and helpful. We wanted a second night, not booked originally and they happily sold us another night at no extra cost for the bigger room. So very accommodating.
Shower broken in first apartment, and lots of stairs, older folk would struggle with them. Otherwise all good
We were stunned by location, amazing one! And accommodation was remarkable, also the staff - always willing to help You with anything. Definitely we will be back along with friends. Must stay Oll Was supper...
